Fusion find guitarist

Fusion have filled the vacancy of guitarist following a period of deploying dep (and former full-time) axe-slinger Kevin Miller. Naturally, it was important to find someone who could continue the established habits of the one known as Poo Kev and luckily for the band a suitable candidate had recently become available.

So it’s with a sharp but not too deep intake of breath and pegs on their noses that Fusion welcome new guitarist Phil, who had until recently been the bass-player in local band Fusion. Drummer Nick Sticks has turned down the request for his new bandmate to stand on his left when performing.

Fusion find bass-player

Following her recent house-move, Fusion vocalist Nicola shifted a particularly heavy storage case in the attic and unearthed a musician in the corner. Careful inspection revealed it to be a bassist, so after a quick polish she positioned it in the band to see what would happen. Being a bassist, not a lot did happen, so she knew he was the real thing.

Coaxed with some junk food, he said his name was Andy but he could change it to Nick if it made things easier. Nicola went outside for a fag while she thought about it. Then she had a cigarette and decided that Andy was a decent enough name and better than some names she could think of.

Fusion lose bass-player

Phil has resigned as Fusion’s bass-player due to a band dispute regarding rehearsal room pollution. Trouble arose when Nicola complained about Nick’s minimalist drumming approach during a rendition of ‘Hi Ho Panty-Lining’, only for her to realise that he had in fact stopped playing entirely, due to his having passed out behind the kit.

Revived by the wafting of a stray bra found down the back seat of Nicola’s car, Nick explained that he’d dropped beats because Phil had kept “dropping one” in such close proximity to the drum stool that the ensuing gaseous build-up had overwhelmed him.

Nicola then accused Phil of deliberately always eating beans before a band rehearsal. Phil retorted that he only accidentally always ate beans before a band rehearsal, except on a few occasions when it was a malicious consumption of pulses on his plate. Nicola then looked confused and went

outside for a puff. After that, she had a cigarette.

When she returned, she told Phil that he could no longer stand to Nick’s left as it was a health hazard. Consequently, Phil had no choice but to forsake the position of bass-player in Fusion. Nick and Nic decided to let the air clear before deciding upon a course of action.

With the departure of Poo Kev comes another new start for Fusion in the name of Peter Lugg! Peter has been gigging for many moons with lots of different bands and brings a wealth of experience and diversity to the sound of the band. So we'd just like to say "Peter - welcome aboard!". You'll be able to see Peter out with Fusion in December 2007. The date will be announced shortly and we hope everyone can make it to say hi.

After over 2 and a half years of gigs and laughs Kevin has sadly decided to move on from Fusion. (Some will cheer - his new band; some will cry - mainly the landlords’ tills with the lack of Magners money going in it). The band will miss him (though not the bad jokes) and wish him well with his new venture. On a brighter note, Kevin will still be playing in Three's Company with Nic and Phil (damn damn damn, we are still stuck with the jokes). Poo Kev's last gig with Fusion will be sometime in November and we'll announce it with banners and streamers and hope everyone can make it to say goodbye.

The band have added a couple of things to their offerings for private functions this year, one being a disco that showed success in 2006 (all tastes catered for and noooo cheesey talking over the top of records).

We realise that as much as people love live bands for their weddings and functions, a DJ is often needed too and therefore have added the option saving space and time for people booking us.

We also recently added the option of a karaoke as well. Often once the spirit has flowed and the band has finished people are dying to get up and have a go themselves and this recently saw great success on New Year's Eve in the Carpenters Arms in Rochester.

For further details and pricings for private functions, one or all three options, drop Nicola a line (details on Contacts page).
